LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

Dear Hookah family & Industry,
The National Hookah Community Association “NHCA” is dedicated to protecting and preserving hookah culture and businesses across the United States. Hookah culture businesses are at risk from legislation, specifically flavored tobacco bans which have been triggered by the youth vaping epidemic. NHCA takes a very strong position that hookah businesses should all ensure that their products are not marketed in a way that appears to target minors.

Few Words From Director’s Desk

Hrant Vartzbedian

Hrant Vartzbedian is the Executive Director of the National Hookah Community Association (NHCA) a native of Egypt and a Cafe' & Hookah lounge owner engaged in the Los Angeles community, his relation to Hookah & Shisha Industry over the last decade puts him in the right position to fulfil his responsibilities, his duties include Outreach, Government affairs and Membership.

"Your salvation lies in the power of your unity" is a quote from famous Armenian poet Charents which applies strongly to our Industry, specially to our law abiding self policing businesses that do not target sales to minors.

The NHCA is here to preserve the culture of those communities engaged in Shisha, Nargile', Argile' and Hookah over centuries giving adults the right to choose to smoke Hookah and protect the businesses and their interests.

The indiscriminate flavor bans springing up at City & County levels all over the US are mistakenly mixing e-cigarettes and vape with Hookah, Hookah is not the problem in classrooms according to Governor Newsom of California.

We have an uphill battle to protect our freedom to smoke Hookah, culture and heritage, the NHCA is at the forefront of this battle and needs your support to protect your interests"
